I am a Murri woman I was born in Goondiwindi, Queensland. My father was born in Kamilaroi Country. My mother was from Boggabilla. I have been living in the Wollongong area for the past 20 years. Coming to TAFE has bought me closer to my culture and spirituality, I have a great connection with my artist friends they are my dearest friends, and I see them as my family.

My children will walk in my footsteps, they will learn from the knowledge of our people, land, spirit and heart. Through my journey of birthright, and life’s survival, hopefully one day the children will understand the meaning “birth mother”, my children and all children will experience the spiritual connection of the land the blood and the journey of my heart and why I express the stories of the dreaming through all forms of art.

I was inspired to further my education by a very special friend Mark Timberey. He told me to never give up, keep going – I am now finishing my Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts TAFE at West Wollongong.

I am a painter and I paint on a spiritual level about the land and our ancestors that walked it. I have exhibited at Wollongong City Gallery, University of Wollongong as part of a print Red Hands show and at Wollongong Court House, Parliament House NSW, recently ceramic tiles of my design were used in an environmental sculpture project at Mt Keira Summit Park NSW. I recently exhibited in Paris late 2007.

I have also completed several painting commissions for private and public murals.
