I come form Purfleet 3km south of Taree where I spent my childhood days playing in the bush. That is where my inspiration comes from for my paintings. I work with my memories and develop my own visual language to describe these stories that are close to my heart. Time is passing quickly and it is important to me to pass on my knowledge and experiences to my children, family and broader community.
I am currently studying my Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts West Wollongong TAFE. I have been awarded the 2005 TAFE NSW Teachers Award for my contribution with the Aboriginal community.
I exhibited solo at the Kiama Fire Station and as part of group shows at Wollongong City Gallery, Wollongong and Berry Court House, Project Contemporary Artspace, Milton Gallery. I have sold work internationally to Japan, Italy, Norway, England and America.
The studio will give me the opportunity to develop and continue my skills as a practicing artist. I can then pass on my knowledge and art practices to my children through my paintings.
